This is the typical way the rough riders wore their hats. The Sabers and the number were worn on the left side of the crown. As far as the shape of the hat, this was one of the many typical variations. This photo is of an officer’s hat, having the bound edge and the officer’s hat cord. The Rough Riders usually did not wear the hat cords but it looks good, doesn’t it? You should look at the various brims and crowns and choose your combination, or if you have an idea for something different, just call.
