Mattie Ross wore a grey boss of the plains hat. The boss of the plains originally was made in any brim dimension you wanted and the 3 ¼” show here was a very popular option. Notice that the flat top crown was pushed up by Mattie’s head as she wore it quite low. We will make the crown as flat as Mattie Ross’ hat was to begin with so you can wear it how you like.

  When I went to see the rebooted of true grit I was apprehensive. How could they try to redo a John Wayne classic? I thought it was foolish to try. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised with the reboot. Jeff Bridges was an excellent Rooster Cogburn and Hailie Steinfeld was outstanding as Mattie Ross. Her portrayal as Mattie Ross was one of the most memorable western characters in decades. You can’t forget how she bullied the old horse trader and got what she wanted in the deal
