      The Searchers was one of John Wayne's best movies in fact many
think it was his best.  The Searchers definitely belongs on that short list
of best western movies ever made.  
  In The Searchers, John Wayne as Ethan Edwards wore several hats  as
the story covered several years and from the Southwest to the Canadian
border.  The hat shown here is the one John Wayne/Ethan Edwards wore
the most in the movie.  I think it was one of John Wayne's best looking
hats.  Notice the 3 strand leather braided hat band, this type of band was
used on other John Wayne hats including Rooster Cogburn.
