Rooster Cogburn~ True Grit

      The Rooster Cogburn hat was usually lop sided in the crown but we
will make it even unless you specify that you want it lop sided.
      The Rooster Cogburn hat comes with a 3 strand hand braided leather
band tied and frayed. In the first movie, True Grit, John Wayne had a 1"
wide ribbon under the leather braid. In the second movie, Rooster
Cogburn, he did not have a ribbon band ; I like it without. We will not put
the ribbon band on unless you specify. The brim does have a ribbon
bound edge in both True Grit and Rooster Cogburn so thats how our
replica will be.
      We highly recommend trail dust stains on this hat. Dirt seems to be
part of the character of Rooster Cogburn.
       True Grit has got to be on the short list of best western movies ever
made and certainly John Wayne's portrayal of Rooster Cogburn deservedly
won him the Oscar.
