Lonesome Dove, with Tommy Lee Jones as Capt. Woodrow F. Call and
Robert Duvall as Gus McCrae, was an immediate classic. This was
probably the best "made for t.v. movie" ever done. For many years prior
we have made the same style as was worn by Robert Duvall. It was one of
several variations on our bullrider style, but ever since Lonesome Dove
people have called it the Gus Crease. That's OK with us. Gus made it look
good.

The 4X Gus is a stock Stetson, but is improved by Knudsen. We hand
form the crown and brim closer to the way Robert Duvall wore his in
Lonesome Dove.

The 6X Stetson is completely hand formed and trim by Knudsen. The
crown has a steeper angle as worn by Gus McCrae and our leather lace
trim is a little nicer. You'll also appreciate the difference in the felt Going
to 6X is appreciably nicer.

Our Knudsen 10X in sand is a little darker than the movie hat but it looks
very, very nice. In fact many have preferred this slightly darker felt. It's a
very practical color and this quality is quite water repellent and fine
textured.

The natural Resistol 20X is made of undyed furs, it has a subtle heather
look. The texture has an almost suede like feel to it.

The 20X in black is a wonderful felt. The suede feel is better in black.
The feel of this felt is like what i've seen labelled 100 or 200X and sold
for twice the price by some shops.
